Traveling is one of our favorite things to do and through lots of trial and error we’ve established some of our necessities that we always bring along to keep us healthy. Read on to see what’s in our bag, whether we’re on the road or in the air!
WIPE IT DOWN
Call us germaphobes, but the first thing we do is wipe the plane seat, tray table, seat belt and buttons with wipes to kill any lingering germs to help protect our immune system.
We never go anywhere without our reusable water bottle! Not only is this a great way to be environmentally-friendly and limit plastic use when you’re on the road, but upping your water intake when you’re traveling can help your skin combat the dry cabin air. Make sure your bottle is empty as you go through security, and you can fill up at one of the water stations before boarding your flight. BONUS: Squeeze some lemon juice into your bottle and voila! You have lemon water on the go (perfect for detoxing).
We also love traveling with a few of our favorite tea bags or our Citrine Sundays Turmeric Wellness Blend to stay consistent with our daily rituals while we’re away from home. You can easily mix our blend with hot water, lemon and honey for a healthy tonic, or toss a scoop into your daily cup of joe for a golden coffee latte.
Packing some healthy food options is always nice to have in lieu of the standard airplane meal. Some of our favorites include fresh fruit, almonds, veggies, and hummus. If you’re looking for more substance, a cold pasta salad, turkey sandwich, or mini charcuterie board (think meats, cheese, crackers & olives) tend to keep better for long haul flights. We also love oatmeal and chia seeds as a healthy breakfast option (just ask the flight attendant for hot water and you’re good to go).
Sleep is so important, so much so that we always travel with a comfy throw or scarf, eye mask and earplugs to help get as much shut-eye in flight. Noise canceling headphones are another great option so you can listen to white noise or your favorite album as you drift off to dreamland. If there’s room in your carry-on, pack a travel diffuser and essential oils to help you feel more at home in a new space. We love diffusing lavender before bedtime and either orange or peppermint in the mornings for a zing of energy!
You’ll never catch us leaving home without the following vitamins & supplements:
- probiotics (for digestion)
- magnesium (for sleep)
- zinc (for immunity)
- activated charcoal (for detoxification)
- chlorophyll (for digestion & skin health)
Our Smudge & Stones Starter Kit is great for travel - we love keeping our stones on us since each crystal has a different energy, offering a multitude of benefits.
- Selenite - Balance
- Carnelian - Grounding
- Amethyst - Great stress-reliever and helps with jet lag
- Shungite - Protection
Once you arrive at your hotel or Airbnb, you can smudge yourself with sage or palo santo to clear out other people’s energy you may have picked up en route, as well as clear out the energy in the physical space that you’ll be in during your stay.
